What do we need?
- Acetate (I've some old photocopier overhead projector sheets in my stash and used some of those).
- Paper with a grid pattern on
- Other paper with patterns drawn on
- A hole punch with a long reach e.g. the Big Bite from We Are Memory Keepers.
Regular Patterns
To create regular dotty patterns is very easy.
1. tape the acetate to the gird paper
2. punch holes at the grid intersections.
2. punch holes at the grid intersections.
3. the Big Bite has two hole sizes so I mixed them around to make 3 different patterns on my stencil.
| I didn't get those lines perfect, but that doesn't matter. |
4. remove the paper and your art stencil is ready to use.
Fancy Patterns
With a little imagination those dots could be punched out in fancy patterns for more original creativity in your art work.
1. Draw freehand or around shapes to create patterns on some paper. Alternatively you could use some paper you have in your stash that has patterns on it.
2. tape the acetate to the patterned paper
Random
Obviously, punching dots at complete random is fairly straight forward.
Have loads of fun punching holes in your acetate and using your dotty stencils in your art, art-journaling, scrapbooking, cardmaking and paper crafting etc. I'd love to see what you create.
Many blessings to you and yours
